A Refill, Please: Jonesborough’s Coffee House Serves Guests from the Corner on Main Street

Coffee lovers in Jonesborough now have a local option for their caffeine needs. The Corner Cup is the only locally-owned coffee shop in Jonesborough, TN.

Owner Debbie Kruse introduced The Corner Cup to Main Street in Jonesborough almost three years ago, although she dreamed of opening a coffee shop for years.

The Corner Cup offers a variety of coffee, which is all brewed with coffee beans roasted at The Coffee Company in Elizabethton, TN.

There is a tea bar with several tea options such as the steaming sweet chai tea, and light eats include homemade crepes and gluten-free pastries.

The Corner Cup stays open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is in business on Sundays from noon to 6 p.m.

Rock’s Wood Fired Pizza & Grill Tops Customers’ Expectations

Rock’s Wood Fired Pizza and Grill on the Bristol Highway features the only Italian oven in Johnson City.

Larry Sangid, the owner, ordered the brick oven from Naples, Italy, and he boasts that the wood-fired taste of his restaurant’s pizza mimics the pizza of Naples.

Main Street Café to Extend Hours

Main Street Café on Main Street in Jonesborough plans to extend its hours after 36 years of serving Jonesborough residents and tourists.

Zac and Kati Jenkins, the second-generation owners of the restaurant, look to extend the hours by providing a dinner service beginning in May.

“[Dinner services] are going to go through 8 p.m.,” said Jenkins. “We are starting small, and we can always grow. If people want us to be open until 10 p.m, we’ll be open until 10 p.m.”

Since its founding in 1982, all food served at the Main Street Café has been homemade and prepared within its kitchens.
