For more than three years, The Black Olive in Jonesborough has been serving and catering to guests from all over the Tri-Cities.

“We want to make sure everyone feels welcome and not exclude anyone from coming.” -Kinsey Holliday, Co-owner of The Black Olive

Her husband, Mo Farrouki, co-operates the restaurant and dedicates special nights to homemade Moroccan dishes. Customers must make reservations to enjoy a night of Moroccan food, music and entertainment.

The Italian restaurant is a bring-your-own-wine establishment so guests are guaranteed a favorite wine to pair with the homemade pasta of their choice.

The Black Olive stays open Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and remains open until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Main Street Café to Extend Hours

Main Street Café on Main Street in Jonesborough plans to extend its hours after 36 years of serving Jonesborough residents and tourists.

Zac and Kati Jenkins, the second-generation owners of the restaurant, look to extend the hours by providing a dinner service beginning in May.

“[Dinner services] are going to go through 8 p.m.,” said Jenkins. “We are starting small, and we can always grow. If people want us to be open until 10 p.m, we’ll be open until 10 p.m.”

Since its founding in 1982, all food served at the Main Street Café has been homemade and prepared within its kitchens.
